Why Write-In?

Wallace’s Story

In June of this year, the North Carolina State House districts that were redrawn earlier in the year were released; and Wallace discovered that the neighborhood in which he lives is now in District 18. This redistricting came late in the election cycle, leaving the liberal candidate for the district running unopposed. Because of the timing, Wallace was unable to file to be on the ballot. Understanding the importance of having a choice in representation, Wallace felt it was crucial to step forward and offer the residents of District 18 an alternative to the radical progressive values championed by Deb Butler, the current district representative.

The decision to run as a write-in candidate came down to Wallace’s deep commitment to Our Faith, Our Families, Our Community, and Our State & Country. He believes strongly in the importance of upholding the principles that have long guided our state and nation. By entering the race as a write-in candidate, Wallace provides voters with a choice—a candidate dedicated to faith, family, and freedom, who will tirelessly represent the people of District 18 in the North Carolina House of Representatives.
